Just found out about the Hidden Angel Foundation, from a great Interview with Bud Kirchner on Bob Scully’s show on PBS.

Can’t wait to find out more, but wanted to share this great quote from their Site. I have had so many “hidden angels” in my life this year, I hope you have too!

“There are no guarantees in life, except that everyone faces struggles. This is how we learn (and grow). Some face struggles from the moment they are born. They are the most special of all people, requiring the most care and compassion and reminding us that love is the sole purpose of life.”
- Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
These are our Hidden Angels – teaching all of us life’s most valuable lessons.

Have been thinking a lot about inspiration lately.
Getting healthy inspired me to create Wellness TalkRadio.
But it’s gotten tough lately dealing with “the usual” start up challenges that most “new start up’s” deal with .
Seth Godin’s recent blog inspired me to commit to “shipping”,i.e. writing a daily blog post.
Last night that got tricky, had a headache and NO inspiration.
Luckily I had something that I had written before around to post!
Good lesson there.
And today Artist and Author, Fred Mandell’s email “blog”…he calls it a “bloutcher”
provided the most amazing inspiration.
He simply sent out his journal page.
Finally, really, true internet transparency.
Honest, real. Simply stated.
“what the hell are you doing?”. My god, it struck a chord with me.
Truth is, I don’t really know.
But I do know
that what a world we would have if every morning, everyone got up and asked themselves, “what the hell am I doing?”
Do I like it?
Does it matter?
Does it make my partner happy?
Does it make my children happy?
Does it make the world a better place?

Thanks for the question Fred.
PS. Whatever you’re doing, keep up the good work!

One of our earliest and most inspiring Interviews was with Dr. Dean Ornish. “Dr. Dean Ornish revolutionized medicine by directing clinical research proving, for the first time, that heart disease and early stage prostate cancer may be stopped or even reversed by his program of comprehensive lifestyle changes, without drugs or surgery.” (The Spectrum)

Dr. Ornish was named one of the 50 Most Influencial People by Life Magazine. He has served on many Boards concerned with health and well being. And has most recently served on The Senate Committee for Integrative Medicine. Here’s what Quincy Jones said about Dr. Dean Ornish,

“Dr. Dean Ornish knows more about inspiring people to eat well, live well,do well and be well than anyone on the planet. The Spectrum is a powerful book for living longer and better and it shows how to live a healthful, joyful and loving life.

We were surprised by his candid honesty and his emphasis on the importance of connection in health.

You may not know who Ignaz Semmelweis is.

But I bet you know who Suzanne Somers is! Yes, If one more middle aged male tells me they had a crush on her in high school….Ok.. but let’s get serious here.

Suzanne Somers in her new book Knockout, takes on Cancer, traditional vs alternative treatments.

In Knockout she Interviews Physician’s that have stepped out of the traditional ‘standard of care’ model and have had success with innovative and alternative treatments.

Oh, and in case you’re wondering, Ignaz was a Hungarian Physician, who spent 20 years of his life trying to convince other doctor’s that washing their hands would prevent a fatal disease that many mother’s giving birth to babies in the 1800′s died from. He saved lives but he had a nervous breakdown and died before he could receive recognition for his discovery. ( Bad timing, they hadn’t discovered ‘germs’ yet!)

Let’s hope we don’t have to wait 20+ years for new effective cancer treatments to be explored, accepted and embraced.

Robert Kiyosaki and the Venerable Tenzin Kacho talk about money and kindness.

This was one of our most surprising Interviews.

Robert Kiyosaki and his sister Tenzin Kacho, have written a book called Rich Brother Rich Sister.

Robert Kiyosaki is best known as a world famous entrepreneur and teacher of all things financial. His Bestselling book, Rich Dad Poor Dad has sold more than 28 million copies and been translated into more than 50 languages.

His sister, the Venerable Tenzin Kacho, is a highly devout Buddhist Nun, ordained by the Dalai Lama. The book details their growing up years, the development of their different views about money, Tenzin’s battle with Cancer, and her challenge to pay the mounting medical bills, and ultimately about their perspective and insights about life

I have to admit I was challenged by this Interview.

I was very glad that Kyosaki would be doing most of the talking, and me, most of the listening.

So what a surprise when the subject he wanted to talk about was kindness. And for Tenzin, an awareness that kindness alone may just not be enough.
